The first chart give information about the number of honey-bee colonies in the US between 1970 and 2010 in millions. The second chart shows the amount of honey produced in the US between 1970 and 2010 in tonnes.
The colonies of honey-bees started at 4 million in 1970 and went up a little by about 4.2 million in 1980. After 1980 the number only started to decrease, for example in 1990 the numbers became 3.5 , and in 2000 it became a little more than 2.5 , approximately 2.6 , by 2010 the numbers became quite small, a little less than 2 million.
Looking at honey production, the highest point was in 1970, at about 130,000 tonnes. After 1970, honey production dropped to around 110,000 tonnes in 1980. Honey production rose again in 1990, reaching around 120,000 tonnes. After that, it fell again to 100,000 tonnes in 2000 and dropped sharply to about 70,000 tonnes in 2010.
In conclusion, both the number of colonies and honey production decreased over the whole period.
