The two provided maps illustrate the development that took place in Marlton Gallery compared to its previous layout.
Overall, key changes occurred in the gallery, including the repositioning of existing rooms, the addition of an extra storey and new amenities, which suggested a significant upgrade to the original design.
On the first floor, the special exhibition room on the right-hand side was later replaced by a parking area. Meanwhile, a front desk and a gift shop on the opposite side saw a reduction in size to accommodate stairs and a coat room in the middle.
The plan’s upper floor underwent fewer alterations. The coffee shop on the right remained unchanged, whereas the media room facing it was relocated to the new third floor, allowing the entire area to be used for exhibition purposes.
Following the renovation, the roof garden was completely eliminated to construct the third floor, which now houses the media room and an education centre. Consequently, the lift, which previously ran only from the bottom floor to the second floor, was extended to access this newly added storey.
