The image depicts two maps of a town center, one from 1700 and one from today. In 1700: a bridge leads to Steggle Farm, with a hotel, market square, church, shops, fields, Goode Farm, and stables situated along High Street and St Peter’s Lane; houses are near the road intersections. Today: the bridge leads to a public park and Steggle Road; a car park replaces Goode Farm, a block of flats near the church replaces the stables; a roundabout is added; a supermarket replaces fields; additional houses are along the main streets; the hotel, market square, and church remain unchanged along High Street and St Peter’s Lane.
Given the complexity of the image, the above description may not be entirely accurate.
