Overall, the number of the production levels of petroleum and natural gas in the United Kingdom showed an increase. However, the data indicate an decrease in the rate of the production level of coal. There was some fluctuation in the share of the production levels of petroleum and coal.

On one hand, the production level of petroleum was the biggest at almost 100 million tones in 1981. It then fluctuated before increasing to 140 million tonnes by the last year. In contrast, the production of natural gas was the smallest approximately 40 million tones. The production of natural gas remained stable and increased, reaching around 100 million tonnes in 2000.

On the other hand, the production level of coal was the second biggest in 1981, accounting for 80 million tonnes. After that, there was some fluctuation, and it decreased to approximately 40 million tonnes by the end of the period.
