Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to let you know that due to a recent card accident, I won’t be able to join at work in the next week.

Let me explain my situation in more details. Last night when I was heading home from a family get together my car met with an accident, and I suffered a hairline fracture in my wrist. I have been advised to rest for a fortnight. I have been lucky enough to escape with minor injury, while other members of the family are safe.

Though I am excited to join the team and start working, unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to do that until 30th April and can start working from 1st May. As per the Orthopedist I shouldn’t put stress on my wrist for three to four weeks. However, I can join the job after two weeks
