The table and charts describe the police budget from 2017 to 2018 and how they managed the money in one area of Britain.
There were three main sources of the police department’s income: it was from the National Government, Local taxes, and other sources (grants). Most of the income in 2017 and 2018 came from the National Government, and the other sources were the least. Staff and officers’ salaries took a huge part of the budget for both years. Meanwhile, technology did not have a big part of the money.
In 2017, the National Government allocated 175.5 million to the police department, and it increased to 177.8 million in 2018. Local taxes were the second main source of income, they gave 91.2 million and 102.3 million in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Therefore, other sources became the least significant income for the police. It started with 38 million and decreased by 2.5 million in 2018 to 35.5 million.
Salaries for the employee in 2017 took up to 75% of the income, building and transport with technology only took 17% and 8%, respectively. In the next year, money spent for salaries decreased to 69%, but building and transport stayed stable at 17%. Meanwhile, Technology increased by 6% in 2018.
