The topic is a classic debate of Job satisfaction vs Job security… In today’s ever changing world of employment, we find ourselves chossing between Job satisfaction and Job security. some may argue that enjoying your work contributes to fulfilling life, others belive that a permanent job provides a greater sense of safety and better well-being. These are both great perspective as this essay will touch both sides before I give an opinion on which I think is best.
When individuals enjoy their work, it plays a crucial role in his or her well-being… mental inclusive, as they tend to be more motivated as they enjoy doing the duty rather than feel forced to do it. It does not just create personal growth, but both professional growth and sense of purpose and achievements. Take for instance, writers, designers, food critics often thrive in an environment that foster and promote innovation and personal expression although the jobs may not be financially secure. Furthermore, satisfied employees are less likely to suffer from burn outs or mental blocks.
On the otherhand, job security is an essential consideration especially in an economy that has uncertain conditions. A stable job means a stable income and pay, benefits and ability to make long term plans such as purchasing a home or asupporting a family. People working in government insitutions or large co-operate institutions often tend to pick job security or ‘permanent job’ as it provides peace of mind and a finacial stability. This perspective majorly favors people in developing countries.
In my opinion, while job security offers undeniable benefits…job satisfaction offers a long-term value. A fulfilling career does not only enchance the emotional well being but fuels the creative and progressive mind of an individual. Ultimately, the ideal scenario is a balance between job satisfacrion and being secured in the job but if you must choose, think about persobnal fulfillment first.
