Overall, it is clear that Great Britain had the most thefts in both 1990 and 1999 with numbers
more than triple than that of other 3 countries, whereas Canada saw the lowest with near 5 thefts per 1000 cars in 1999.
For Great Britain number of thefts fluctuated between the years of 1990-1996, peaking in 1996 at 20 thefts per 1000 vehicles and slightly decreasing to just about 15 per 1000 in 1999. As for Sweden numbers more than doubled throughout the years starting at 5 per 1000 in 1990, which was lowest among all four countries and reaching above 10 in 1999.
In contrast, for Canada rates lowered from slightly above 5 per 1000 in 1990 reaching absolute lowest in 1993 at 5 per 1000 and then remained practically the same. In France, numbers rose slightly from 1990 to 1991 from above 5 per 1000 to below 10 per 1000, fluctuating between 1991 and 1997 and achieving slight decrease by 1999.
