The above maps illustrate the transformation of Stokeford in the 80 years between 1930 and 2010. Over this period, the bridge in the north as well as the river did not exhibit major changes. Nevertheless, there were a host of alterations in the design of the village. For instance, there existed an exponential growth in the number of houses, which usurped what were once expansive farmlands. Moreover, roads were constructed as extensions of the main road, abutting residential constructions.
Furthermore, the prominent shops that characterized the centre of the city ceased to exist in 2010, while the neighbouring primary school expanded in an easterly direction. In addition, the gardens and the large house nearby were seized by the grand, more complex structure of the village’s retirement home.
In summary, the town has experienced substantial changes during the eighty years of observation, although certain features such as the bridge and the river course remained untouched. The sprouting of newroads alongside novel buildings and expansion as well as replacement of buildings were also noted during this span of time
