Dear Martha,

I am writing to apologise for the incident that happened last week, where I accidentally spilled coffee on important documents.

On that day, in the morning I brought my coffee to office and I came to your desk to clarify a question but unfortunately someone from behind bumped into me and I spilled the coffee on your documents that are lying on your desk. I tried reaching out to you on that day to say sorry but I later came to know that you are on leave.

I was not exactly sure how important those documents were on that day but when I saw a specific letterhead on them I understood they must be important enough to you.

I can make it up to you by printing those documents again if you can send a softcopy of them to me. Next time, I will try to make sure that I don’t fill the coffee to the brim.Best regards,
