Dear Simon,
I’m writing this to inform you that I accidentally incurred minor damage to the car I recently borrowed from you.
Yesterday, late in the evening, I came home from the event I attended earlier, so tired that I carelessly entered our garage and accidentally bumped the left side angle of the rear bumper against the gate. As a result, the car incurred a cracked and dislocated rear bumper.
I’m sincerely saddened about what happened, and I’m really sorry for the inconvenience I’ve caused. Thus, rest assured, I will shoulder all the expenses of the repair.
I know a friend who works at a trusted auto shop, and I will deliver the car today to restore it to its original form as soon as possible.
I hope you will not consider these lapses as abuse of trust, and look forward to seeing you soon.
Best regards,
Neil
