To the Community Center,
I would like to express my concerns regarding the language course being offered here. First of all, I find the teaching methods to be quite boring and basic. The teachers come into the classroom, write something on the board, explain it briefly with phrases like ‘Here is how you do this,’ and then leave. This approach feels quite rude, and it isn’t conducive to our learning because it lacks engagement and interactivity.
Secondly, I believe this course is primarily aimed at middle-aged individuals, yet the starting time coincides with our working hours. This is the case for most of us, which makes it impossible for us to attend the course. Additionally, the textbooks provided seem to be mostly second-hand and potentially outdated. While I don’t have high expectations, I believe we should at least have access to reasonably priced, new books.
Lastly, the classroom environment is not ideal; it is often damaged and lacks natural light, even during the morning and midday hours. This makes it difficult for us to focus on the course materials and the teachers.
However, I do not just wish to complain; I also have some suggestions for improving the community center and its courses. Firstly, the tables and seats in the classroom need to be repaired, and it would be beneficial to install new lighting that mimics natural daylight. Additionally, I recommend that you consider partnering with a local printing house to provide affordable, new textbooks for the course. Lastly, it would be great to have teachers who are genuinely passionate about teaching us.
Thank you for considering my feedback.
