Dear Mr. Smith,
I am writing to you to postpone our meeting that should be at 4pm today.
I apologize for this inconvenience as I understand how busy your working day and how important this meeting for our cooperation is.
The matter is that we have some serious issues in our branch in Chicago and I have to go there urgently and resolve the problems immediately. Otherwise, we will have huge financial losses, as well as we will lose our best customers. Actually, I am unable to inform you about all the details due to confidentiality rules. Nevertheless, the fact is that I am not able to come to the meeting today.
I would be grateful if you could make another appointment, for instance, at 3 pm on Friday tomorrow. Moreover, I will be able to gather more detailed information for our deal tomorrow morning, and, thus, our meeting will be much more effective.
Thank you in advance for understanding.
Looking forward to your prompt response.
Yours sincerely,
Ann Johnson
