Dear Councilor,
my name is Aleksei and recently I moved to The Surry Hills Park and as a newbie I noticed some moments we could improve at our lovely neighborhood.
My general concern is about the lights, we have a cold lightning which is not that healthy for dwallers of The Park. The problem is hidding in the human body, the light of the blue specter burns out melothonin and reduce temptation to sleep so some people might be very sensetive to it and end up in situatation when they struggle with insomnia. We could easily solve the issue by merely replacing cold light bulbs with the warm ones. Moreover, it is a good time to take an advantage of the situation and install modern and energy-efficient lightning.
Another problem I have to bring to the discussion is the waste management. If you take a walk around the neighborhood on sunny day, you could not just see but smell the urge for better solution for trash bins. The dark and smelly spots on the road are the product of food waste so I believe that proper waste management based on differentiation of ways we treat various of kinds of garbage would change situation significantly. Therefore, I propose to start separating waste and dedicate special areas for food waste to keep our streets clean.
I hope my comments and ideas doesn’t seems like criticism and hope for your understanding.
If you need any help with making our precious home better, feel free to contact me.
Best regards, your new neighboor Aleksei!
