Dear Sir or Madam,

I am John Smith, and I am writing to apply for the recruitment in the City Museum Shop during the holidays, as I have seen an advertisement in the newspaper. I am currently studying at the University, and my subjects are English and History. I am interested in applying and gaining experience during my holidays.

I have experience in a library, where I guided customers to find books, made book entries, and worked at the transactions counter. I have well-developed and fluent communication skills in English, and I am very active during working hours, especially at busy times. I can explain anything if I read about the museum’s exhibits.

I am interested in this job because I like to learn about history and also share that knowledge with others, as history was my favorite subject. I would like to help people and also myself to know more about the museum.
