I hope this letter finds you well and that you are thoroughly enjoying your vacation. I’m writing to discuss an unfortunate incident that occurred during my stay at your house.

While I was there, my cat accidentally knocked over your beautiful vase. It was a sudden mishap; the vase fell and shattered into several pieces, scattering shards across the room. I tried my best to clean up the mess, but I found it quite challenging to remove all the tiny fragments from the carpet and furniture.

I sincerely apologize for the damage caused to your cherished vase. I feel terrible about this incident, and I assure you that it was not intentional. To make amends, I would like to offer you a replacement. I discovered an exact replica of your vase at an antique shop, and I intend to purchase it to compensate for the loss.
