The bar chart compares the level of popularity of four sources of news between 2013 and 2017.
Overall, most people used television as their main media to obtain news, while printed news and radio were both unpopular among people throughout the given period. It is also of note that the Internet experienced substantial growth in its usage, becoming one of the two main news sources in 2017.
In terms of the two major new resources, around 80% of people used television to access news in 2013, then this figure started to decline to approximately 68% in 2015 before rising to over 70% at the end of the period, ranking first in the bar chart. Meanwhile, the lowest proportion of people obtained news via the Internet in 2013, at about 30%, followed by a considerable soar in 2017, which was nearly equal to the figure for television usage.
Regarding the two remaining means, the use of newspapers began at slightly over 40% then gradually decreased by 10% in the next two years and ended at about 20%, marking the least popular news-obtaining means between 2013 and 2017. This statistic for radio fluctuated around 31% in 2013, then leveled off at 30% in 2015 and 2017.
