The layouts illustrate how the look of the ground floor of a museum changed in 2010 compared to 1990. Overall, while some particular areas remained unchanged until 2010, most of the amenities of this museum’s floor have been upgraded as well as replaced by some integration in some service areas to bring more convenience for clients in 2010.
While the local history room has not experienced any different changes, several service areas have been altered on the right half side of the museum’s floor. There was an archaeology gallery in 1990 on the top right-hand corner of the floor, but in 2010, it was replaced by the children’s interactive zone and the poster display area. In more detail, removal of glass and walls of each area of the right half side of the floor in 2010 could create an open space for clients, offering a comfortable experience.
A noticeable transformation is evident in the entrance, which has been significantly widened compared to its 1990 layout. Furthermore, the left half of the ground floor has undergone substantial renovations. The reception counter, previously situated directly in front of the museum office, has been relocated diagonally to the left of the exit, near the bottom left corner of the floor. While the natural history room above the museum office remains unchanged, a notable addition is the installation of an elevator adjacent to this room, offering greater convenience for visitors to access the upper floors. Lastly, the gift shop, located in the top left corner of the left half of the floor, has been integrated with a café, enhancing the visitor experience while optimizing the museum’s space.
