The two maps illustrate the modifications made to the ground floor of a museum between 1990 and 2010. Overall, the museum underwent a significant transformation, with new facilities introduced and existing ones repurposed to enhance visitor engagement. Notable changes include the introduction of a children’s interactive zone and a poster diplay area.
In 1990, the museum ha a relatively simple layout. The entrance was at the bottom, leading to a reception counter. To the left of the entrance, there was a museum office, followed by a natural history room and a gift shop in the top-left corner. On the opposite side, a local history room was situated, while an archaeology gallery occupied a large space in the top-right section. A statue was placed centrally, and a staircase provided access to upper levels.
By 2010, several changes had been implemented. While the entrance remained unchanged, it was widened to enhance visitor comfort. The gift shop was expanded to include a cafe, and a lift was installed next to the natural history room. Meanwhile, the archaeology gallery went and in its place were a children’s interactive zone and a poster display area. Whereas local history room and the statue remained in their original locations, the receptions counter was expanded and relocated closer to the entrance, improving accessibility for visitors.
