The diagram demonstrates the process of producing four different sorts of tea.
Overall, for some types of tea more steps are required. The easiest sort to make is white tea. Leaf growth, plucking, and drying in an oven are required for every type. Oven drying is always the last step.
To begin with, the first step is called “Leaf growth”. Next one is “plucking” and the third one is “withering”. To produce white tea, after these three steps leaves are going straightforward into the oven. To make green tea, leaves should be steamed and rolled before going to the oven drying. Oolong tea leaves for oolong are not steamed as green tea but rolled too. In addition, leaves should have slight fermentation before the final step. Leaves for large-leaf black tea should be prepared in the same way as leaves for oolong tea. But instead of slight fermentation, they need to have a complete one. Then, both oolong tea and large-leaf black tea are put into the oven. Small leaf black tea is made in another way. Instead of rolling part of producing, it has crushing. Other phases are absolutely the same as for large-leaf black tea.
