The images gives information about the techniques used for labelling Shellfish before global exportation. It systematically shows the process involved starting with traditional fishing down to when the certified shellfish gets to both local and international consumers hand.
Overall, the methods involed from the artisans fishing to labelling systems was majorly monitoring techniques while the rest was chain of distribution. Chain of distribution in the sense that it involves the way goods or services move from production to the end consumer.
The process began with non-industrial fishing but they specifically work for the shellfish company because a gps location device was mounted on the boats which transmits signal to the satellite and they are being monitored by the company in Santiago to determine their exact position, speed and time and after the the artisians are done catching they are taken to the labelling system to generate a barcode label to certify catch.
The catch is then tranferred to the processing plant for proper shellfish processing and thats the final production stage before the certified shellfish is transported by air, land or sea to different parts of the world both local and international for consumption by customers.
