The pie charts illustrates the proportions of visitors from the UK in five different age groups went Spain in two years: 1983 and 2003.
Overall, the decreasing pattern was only witnessed in the figures for those between 25 and 54, which were always the highest proportions in both years.
Regarding the year 1983, 50% of visitors from the UK to Spain aged from 35 to 54, accounted for the highest proportion among the five age groups, followed by those from 25 and 34 years old at 20% and those over 55 at 16%. The lowest percentage was recorded in visitors aged 16 to 24 at only 4%, 6% less than the figure for people under 15 years old, which ranked fourth in the same year.
As for the remaining year, although experiencing a 15% drop, the proportion of visitors in 35-54 age group was still the highest at 35% in 2003, while the figure for individuals from 25 to 34 was the lowest after declining to 12%, which was the same as the percentage of individuals below 15 years old.
