The given bar diagram shows the talk time in minutes for the telephone calls in Australia. The calls are classified into three divisons – local, national and international, and mobiles. The call duration in mintues is given in billions. The chart gives details of the years 2001 to 2008.
Overall, it can be observed that while local method of calling underwent a rise by 2005, it then faced a fall by 2008. National and international calls , along with mobiles, had an increase in its duration. However, the local calls had the highest minute count throughout all the years.
To begin with, it is clear that local phone calls were the most popular method in 2001, with a little less than 75 billion. It then peaked around 2005 with an average of 85 billion minutes. This was followed by a fall, with 2008 having the same amount as 2001.
Coming to national and international talks, they had a very steady growth. While they had around 37 billion time span in 2001, they doubled it by 2008.
Finally moving on to mobile phones, they were almost not utilised by people in 2001. Eventhough they had a very slow development initially, they saw major rise in 2006, where they had two times the minutes it had in 2005. By 2008, they were used for around 45 billion minutes.
