The bar chart and the table gives data about the comparison of spending time, in minutes per day, by the UK women and men on domestic job and hobbies in 2008.
We can see that women spent more time for all housework, except repairing, whereas, men prefer to spend their time to leisure activities. The number of minutes was spent by women to wash and to cook, there approximately tripled in comparison with man time in the same categories (78 minutes for women and 30 minutes for men). Moreover, the big differences were shown in washing and ironing clothing, for instance, men spent less than 10 minutes on this doings, however, women washed and ironed clothes more than 30 minutes per day. One of the exception is repairing, as the number of minute significantly was different between men and women, men spent nearly 20 minutes per day and women only 10 minutes per day.
On the other hand, men preferred to choose watching and listening TV, radio and video (137 minutes per day for male and 118 minutes for female). Slight differences are noticed in books activities, since nearly the same minutes were spent by men and women (18 minutes for men and 19 minutes for women). Sport exercise was the least popular type for hobbies in both genders.
In summary, it seems that, two categories of people spent more time for leisure activities than domestic job in 2008.
