London Tube has the most expensive ticket for $7.30 per person, making it the least popular metro compared to other cities. However, this theory does not affect Mexico City Metro. Eventhough it is the cheapest among other metros, it is still few in demand by 1.6 journeys a year. Meanwhile Beijing subway as the cheapest metro after Mexico for less than half a dollar per ticket are the most desired by 3.6 annual journeys.
The lowest amount of lines in London also as a factor that make it less demanding for the citizens. There are only 11 lines, which are limited in acccessing various destinations. The same case with Mexico City Metro with only 12 lines available. However, New York City Subway provide the highest quantity of lines by 24 lines with a total length of 659 miles, surpass the other five countries.
In conclusion, while other factor might also occur, demand of cities’ metros are affected by the lines available and the cost of ticket.
