Overall, the majority of the countries international tourist arrivals increased, albeit at varying rates, with the exception of France and Hong Kong. While the number of international tourist arrivals in France remained static, that of Hong Kong decreased. Additionally, the figure for international tourist arrivals in Germany and China underwent the biggest increase, with the former seeing a bigger change.
Focusing on the bigger figures first, the count of international tourist arrivals in Germany climbed from 11 million to 23 million between 2009 and 2010, jumping by a staggering 109%. As for China, the figure for international tourist arrivals followed an upward trend from 22 million to 34 million within one year(2009 and 2010), climbing by a whopping 55%. Turkey’s figure rose noticeably to 45 million, growing by 33%.
Turning to the smaller figures, the figure for international tourist arrivals in the USA started at 66 million in 2009, a figure that then went up slightly to 67 million in the next period, rising by 1.5%. When it comes to international tourist arrivals in Italy in 2009, a figure started at 44 million, and this was followed by negligible growth to 45 million in the next year, going up by 2.3%. Additionally, the count of international tourist arrivals in the UK adhered to a rising trajectory from 55 million to 57 million between 2009 and 2010, increasing by 3.6%. Spain’s figure climbed slightly from 55 million to 56 million between 2009 and 2010, jumping by 1.8%.
As for remaining figures, the figure for international tourist arrivals in Hong Kong decreased moderately by 1 million(previously it was 10 million), dropping by 11%. Finally, the number of international tourist arrivals in France remained flat at 76 million.
