Out of all six undergound systems, London Tube, Mexico City Metro and Tokyo Subway have lowest amount of lines, 11, 12 and 13 respectively. This number rises for Paris Metro at 16 lines and Beijing at 19 and reaches its peak in New York City at 24 lines. As for total length in miles: Paris accounts for the shortest at 127 miles while Mexico City Metro stands at 140 miles. The length moderately rises for Tokyo Subway which runs along 189 miles in total. The distance covered by the underground system rises significantly for London and Beijing at 249 and 357 miles, while New York stands at 659 miles total.
London Tube accounts for lowest amount of annual journeys at 1.2 billion. Paris, Mexico City and New York hover around similar numbers at 1.5, 1.6 and 1.65 billion respectively. There’s a huge spike for Tokyo and Beijing at 3.1 and 3.6 billion annual journeys. Cost of single ticket in US dollars stands at the lowest in Mexico City and Beijing being 0.23 and 0.45 dollars. Tokyo Subway costs 1.64 dollars and this number rises for New York and Paris at a similar price of 2.50 and 2.30 dollars. We see a huge spike in price for London at 7.30 dollars
