The table shows the popularity of five types of beef in different countries in Europe.
Overall, Belgian blue was the most popular type of beef Italy, France, and Germany, while scotch and simmental types recorded the lowest proportion in all countries.
Belgian blue type recorded the highest proportion, reaching 42 percent in Italy, 37 percent in France, and 31 percent in Germany. In contrast, Spain and UK’s people were less consuming these types, accounting for 26 and 21 percent respectively.
Holstein and Aberdeen types recorded nearly the same proportions, which their values ringe between 16 and 24 percent. The highest values were in Germany at 24 percent for Holstein type, and 22 percent in Spain and Germany for Aberdeen Angus.
In contrast, Simmental and Scotch types were less common compared to the previous types. The higher proportions recorded in the UK at 19 percent for Simmental type, while Spain recorded 18 percent for Scotch type. On the other hand, Germany recorded the lowest figures, accounting for 12 and 11 percent respectively.
