The table illustrates how much time was spent on mobile phones per day in 3 different countries, Australia, India, Japan and worldwide between 2010 and 2014. Overall, the upward trend was universal for all countries, reaching the highest amount in Australia.
There was a gradual increase in the phones’ usage for Australia and Japan, beginning with 1.2 hours and 3.1 hours, respectively. In 2012, they rose up to 2.8 hours for Australia and 4.6 hours for Japan, still managing the steady rate. In the final year, however, Australia outnumbered Japan, hitting a peak of 5.2 hours, while there was just a difference of 0.1 hour between two countries.
As for India and worldwide, both of them started at markedly low numbers compared to previous two, only 0.4 hour for former and 0.3 for latter. Afterwards, there was almost no change for a year, but, then, it was followed by a significant increase to around 1 hour. Subsequently, India reached 3 hours after its noticeable increase, whereas the worldwide number did not change significantly in 2014, staying at 2.1 hours.
