Overall, what stands out from the graph is that during the period, cell phone services and residential phone services completely changed. Particularly, from the latter being almost thrice more than the former, to almost taking each other’s places.
In 2001, the average person spent 200 dollars per year for mobile phone services, whereas home phone expenditures accounted for 700 dollars, which is approximately three times more. In the next year, both experienced a change of 100 dollars, but the former’s went up, while the latter’s declined. The same trend continued until the end of the period. Additionally, in 2006, spending was equalized, standing at just over 500 dollars.
Beginning from 2006, mobile phone services took the lead from home phone services, sharply increasing in 2007. Afterwards, both have gone through moderate changes year by year, and in the final year, cell phone expenditures hit the highest point, standing at 750 dollars, whereas residential phone services’ stood at 400 dollars.
