The pie graphs illustrates the proportions of different kinds of energy had been produced in France in 1995 and 2005. Overall, only percentage of petrol decreased over 10 years, while gas and coal always accounted for two highest figures among those categories.
In 1995, the proportions of gas, coal, and petrol accounted for nearly 90% of all production in France. They were 29.8%, 29.63%, and 29.27%, respectively, followed by nuclear, which was only at 6.4%. The remaining proportion (4.9%) was shared by other types of energy.
In 2005, while gas and coal still rank first with around 30.31% and 30.93%, the figure for petrol dropped dramatically to 19.55%, which was just 9% higher than that for nuclear, which witnessed a modest growth of 3.7%. For other types of energy, which was two times higher compared to their previous percentages, they accounted for 9.1% in the total production in France.
