It can be seen that the percentage of people in the 20-55 group and the over 55 group illustrate a decline while those of 0-19 age group increase throughout the period. Furthermore, the over 55 experience the largest shift during eighty years.
Regarding the decreasing categories, the population of the 20-55 group constituted the highest share at the beginning of the period at around 55 percent, before hitting a peak at 70 percent in the next twenty years. Then, it has seen a moderate fall and is predicted to drop continuously to 45 percent at the end of the period. The figure for the 0-19 age group had declined significantly and converged with that of the 55+ group at 20 percent in 1990. Next, it is projected to fall by approximately 10 percent in 2040.
Concerning the other group, the data of the 0-19 age accounted the lowest initially at around 17 percent in 1960. However, the figure has increased, is increasing, and is projected to increase remarkably by about 25 percent for the period of seventy years. Lastly, it is predicted to rise rapidly, overtaking that of the 20-55 and becoming the largest population of the country.
