The chart above shows the quantity of waste disposed using three different methods in the period from the year 2005 to 2008.
Overall, the landfills received the highest amount of garbage at the beginning of this period, although it decreased after that to leave its place to burning method.
In the year 2005, the most volume of waste was put in landfill, recording 1,800 million tonnes, with a significant gab with the other methods, but this quantity decreased over time, falling to 1,200 million tonnes in 2006, and 900 million tonnes in 2007, to reach 600 million tonnes in the year 2008.
The second way used to remove garbages is by burning it, although this method was less used at the beginning, but after that rose steadily, which accounted for 500 million tonnes in 2005, then moved slightly to 600 million tonnes in 2006, 700 million tonnes in 2007, then jumbed to 900 million tonnes in the end.
Finally, dumbing at sea solution recorded stable figures throughout the period at 600 million tonnes in all years.
