The given pictures illustrate the way in which Assford town changed for urbanizable purposes between 1965 and the present day.
Looking at the illustration, it is immediately that some old features were still there, whereas others such as the tree’s land had all gone. Additionally, over the period of fifty-eight years, the town had undergone dramatic transformation with several large changes including infrastructure, housing areas and amenities.
In 1965, the road which situated in the middle of the map was demolished to make way for Road Bridge and foot bridge, connecting both sides of the river that provide a comfortable access for citizens instead of crossing the river by boat like before. In the top left corner of the map, there is an enormous parking facility beside the river that replace entire huge place of nature.
There was a prosed plan in 2010 aims to change and supplement some buildings, and the most noticeable of which was the enormous amount of house was erected on the right side of the Ferry river from between the two paths to the northeast corner of the map. There are also two introductions of two car park, the first one that is located between apartments and houses connecting the Road bridge through a small road, and the remaining one near the pedestrian bridge. Overall, a green area is transformed into a densely populated concrete settlement.
