The pie charts illustrate the results of a questionnaire about children’s cultural and leisure activities. The first one illustrates the cultural and leisure activities that boys attend, while the latter shows those for girls.
Overall, computer games were the most popular activity among boys, whereas dancing was the top choice for girls. In contrast, reading was the least preferred activity for boys, while listening to music accounted for the same proportion for both genders.
Examining the data for boys, computer games stood out as the category that consumed the majority of their time, at 34%, double the proportion recorded in soccer, basketball ranked second at 26%, only lower than computer games. Listening to music and skateboard followed, they mirrored more or less comparable figures, the former making up for 10% and the latter-11%. The lowest share of boys’ time was devoted to reading, registering at a mere 2%.
Their female counterparts showed a contrasting pattern in their preferences compared to boys. Dancing emerged as the most popular leisure activity, occupying the largest share, at 27%. Reading made up 21%, which was almost twice as much as listening to music and gymnastics, each constituting 10% and 11% respectively. Computer games accounted for 16%, followed closely by netball, on which girls spent 15% of their time.
