Overall, boys prefer to computer games and sports while the girls show an interest in dancing and reading activities. Additionally, reading stood out the most dominant activity among girls than boys.
Examining the data for boys, computer games stood out as the category that participated the majority of their time, at 34%, followed closely by basketball, on which boys played 30%. Soccer also represented a notable share at 17%. In contrast, most passive activities were less preferred by boys with listening to music and skateboarding occupied 10% and 11% respectively. The lowest share of boys’ activity was devoted to reading, at a mere 2%.
Girls showed a contrasting pattern in their preferences compared to boy counterparts. Dancing emerged as the most popular sites, occupying the largest share, at 27%. Reading ranked the second category at 21% which was significantly higher than that of boys. Computer games accounted for a moderated 16% while netball made up 15%. By contrast, listening to music and gymnastics mirrored one another, with 1% disparity, shared 10% and 11%.
