In recent years, people are living longer than before. Many people believe that old people should have a job. While this point of view makes sense, I disagree with this idea.
Admittedly, giving old people job can be useful in some cases. Since they have much experience , old people can teach many skills to young generation fostering general knowledge of stuff. For example, when a teacher struggles to find some solutions about their subject, they can ask for some help from more experienced one. Additionally giving old people job can be very beneficial for them because as people grow older they feel themselves more useless. Engaging old people in work helps them to feel more valued and reduce stress which is common among elderly people.
Notwithstanding, employing older people have negative sides. In the age of the Internet, it is becoming more important to have knowledge about technology and social media. Unfortunately, it is common to struggle using gadgets and Internet among old people. for example, many older individuals even don’t know how to use computer, being less productive than younger people. And it is harmful for many companies. Furthermore, they are not as much curious as youngsters are. They work depending on their previous knowledge halting the development of company.
In conclusion, while employing older people can be beneficial for stuff knowledge and for themselves, I disagree with the idea that they need to be employed, especially in the fast paced world.
