In addition, unrealiable kind of advertising also make bold consumers’ behaviors as people misunderstand about the products’ function which help companies promote an excessive consumption. For example, Black Friday, which is a flash sales event always has a large consumers enter this event. Moreover, advertising impose impractical social standards on people ‘s self-esteeem in the youth. All of these harm the individuals’ mentality and finance.
Therefore, effective measures need applying to mitigate these effects. First, we need to enhance media education. These education will help people improve critical thinking to analyse and detect advertising to make informed consumers’ decisions. For example, in Canada government apply media literacy courses in high school curriculum. Second, government should impose and enhance more strict laws and legal regulations to ensure the truthful, responsibility of the advertising.
