Band 5+: air pollution is the most important concern of many countries. what are the main causes and effects of this issues?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

These days, air pollution is becoming more and more dangerous and horrible problem. The most important thing is that everyone knows the disasters it can create, but no one does anything about it. In my opinion, the main causes of this problem is that people do not care about air pollution, but it will have huge effects in the future.

First of all, fossil fuels are the main cause of air pollution. When oil burns, it releases toxic gases such as nitrogen monoxide (NO), sulfur dioxide (SO²), nitrogen dioxide (NO²) and carbon monoxide (CO) into the atmosphere. Along with these gases, carbon dioxide (CO²) is released into the atmosphere, but this gas does not poison the air, it causes global warming. Some industries, including power plants that produce electricity, use coal and oil, which release smoke into the air and it reduce air quality. In today’s world, cars are the biggest air polluters, and electric cars are the solution, but if we consider that electricity is obtained from burning fossil fuels, this is not solution.

Turning to effects, air pollution causes cardiovascular and respiratory system problems in people. Toxic gases have a great impact on the health of humans and other organisms. Another major effect is acid rain, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide gases cause acid rain, which leads to the destruction of forests, the erosion of some monuments and the death of some organisms. If air pollution continues in this form, in the future the arctic ocean will melt and some cities and farmlands will be under water. This can lead to huge disasters in the future.

In conclusion, in today’s rapidly developing and industrialized world, the air is getting more and more polluted. I believe that people have an important role in air pollution.
