Air traffic has become one of the primary means for transportation which indeed made its cost more available which in turn allowed more people to use it. Some argue that drawbacks of this kind of transportation outweigh the benefits, thus it should face heavier taxation, the point which I disagree with.
Over the past decades airline constructions widely took place around the globe results of which may appear two-edged, with all the pollution and noise following airport constructions. Therefore, some people begin to conclude that in order to mitigate these issues air traffic should be addressed with imposition of heavier taxation. Such measures will as a consequence increase the cost of transportation via planes which will subsequently reduce the drawbacks accompanying constructions taking place throughout the world.
On the other hand, benefits far outweigh the drawbacks for a number of reasons such as this kind of transportation which in the past was considered a privilege becoming more financially reachable for ordinary people, a great contribution to economy and the reduction in time required for travelling from one place to another. Additionally, the viability of imposing heavier taxation is questionable since such measures do not lead to expected outcomes.
Overall, from my point of view taxation is not the best measure to take towards the issues mentioned above it is better to be addressed in a more flexible and creative way.
