Every parent wants the best chances for their children. Some say that children should be taught helpful skills at school, while others would argue that it is more beneficial to receive a variety of subjects for students’ future. This essay will discuss that although learning skills at school offers children flexibility to rectify different situations, having a wide range of subjects broadens their knowledge.
On the one hand, it is useful for students to learn a myriad of different skills. When facing obstacles in life, they tend to handle their circumstances by using practical skills, which they have learned at school. For this reason, people can avoid some serious problems in life. For example, in Uzbekistan, students learn climbing and hiking in some postgraduate schools, and those who study there do not find it difficult to explore the nature in hills or cliffs, and can enjoy the environment. However, I believe, teaching only skills at school cannot enhance child’s perspective about world.
On the other hand, giving lessons about varied topics and academic subjects helps pupils expand their knowledge and mentality. At school, not only do teachers give lessons to students, but they also discuss about extraordinary animals, objects and innovations in the world with them, therefore sparking child’s passion. This helps students gaining a deep understanding of academic subjects and create better opportunities for their future career. For instance, in many cases, pupils who have broad knowledge and studied well at school are more likely to get prestigious universities. I believe, when children have a variety of subjects at school, they might build a promising career for them.
In conclusion, despite the fact that teaching more skills at school can be practical for pupils’ life, but it is more advantages, when they are taught a wide range of subjects as they will have a better perspective about the world and will have a better future career.
