The table compares five countries in terms of their 5G network availability, average download speeds and the percentage of mobile users who used 5G services in 2021.
Overall, South Korea had the widest 5G coverage, while Saudi Arabia recorded the fastest download speed. Meanwhile, the United States had the lowest speed but still showed a high figure for 5G availability.
In terms of coverage, the United States and the Netherlands showed similar levels at 49.2% and 45.1%, while South Korea followed closely at 43.8%. Saudi Arabia had a moderate availability of 35.5%, whereas China had the lowest figure, with only 19.8% of its area covered by 5G.
Regarding download speeds, Saudi Arabia clearly led with 377.2 Mbps, slightly higher than South Korea’s 354.4 Mbps. China recorded a relatively slow speed of 113.1 Mbps, while the United States had the slowest among the five countries at 52.3 Mbps.
As for adoption, 22% of mobile users in Saudi Arabia used 5G, making it the highest. South Korea and the Netherlands followed with 17% and 11%, while both China and the United States showed the lowest usage at 4%.
