Today, many Vietnamese youngster enjoy celebrating some festival like Halloween or Christmas.Some people believe that these thing is not wrong while others claim that there are several effects of it. From my perpective, world festivals have various cultural impacts on young people in Viet Nam.
Firstly, these festivals forced people to buy things they do not need. To explain, a world festival has many traditional things which are uasually associated with advertising and discounting and young people are likely to be fastinated by products which they never used before, then they may buy them immediately even if they do not really need them. Thus, this matter can lead to wasting money and contributing to uncontrollable spending habits.
Secondly, celebrating world festivals may make people lose their sense of identity. For example, when teenagers join in festivals from other culture, they can easily be fascinated by foreign custom and traditon, leading to the lost of interest in their own cultural traditon. As a result, it can cause imbalance between local and international identity and the fading of sense of origin.
Additionally, world festivals may make youbg people ignoring local festivals. If youngsters love more on international festivals, they may be less keen on national festivals. Hence, it can weaken the connection between young Vietnamese people and national culture, ane reduce the value of important events to loval community.
In conclusion, world festivals have several negative inacts on Vietnamese youngsters such as wasting money, losing sense of identity and ignoring of local festivals. Therefore, cultural exchange and acceptance need to be stay with the conservation of national culture.
