Band 4+: As a country develops, people tend to buy more cars. Do the advantages for the individual outweigh the disadvantages for the environment?

When the country devlops, more job opportunities are offer to the people of the nation and hence result in more pupils buying the car. The primary benefit of buying a car is convenience whereas cars are the main reason in increase of the air pollution.

Travelling becomes very comfortable and not hectic if a person owns a vehicle. This is to say that an individual does not have to stand in a line for a public transport, Moreover they can also save their time by travelling by their own vehicle. This means that people who uses public transport have to wait for a long time beacause of the que and finding the vehicles that goes in their locality. For example, a survey by Times Of India found that people who owns a private vechicle saves 30% more time in travelling than people who use public vehicles.

Advancement in the technology have made humans life easier but it has destroyed the nature. The toxic gas unleashed from the cars is polluting the air and more people buying the cars lead to increase in the air pollution greatly. Consequently having hazardous impact on animals and plants such as majority of the animals and plants life span have reduced to a quite extent. The harmful impact is not limited to animals and plants, humans are also facing health problems due to the increase air pollution. For example heart disease, tuberculosis, Ashtama Attack & Liver damage have been seen in humans as a dangerous effects of surging in air pollution.

In conclusion, it is true that car invention has made human life more comfortable but it caused more destruction than any benefit. This essay completely agree with the statement that it’s disadvantages is more heavier than it’s advantages and to save the environment it’s necessary for the government to limit the uses of cars.
