It’s commonly believed by many scientists that the future of computers will be brighter than humans. Some people welcome the development of advanced computing technology. While some argue that it brings negative impact. From my perspective, it’s an opportunity to grow, not a drawback.
In the modern world, lots of people use digital devices for work. Modern technology can analyse data faster than humans, such as medical diagnosis. They can take over dangerous work, and free people for creative tasks. In other words, electronic devices are our valuable tool to get our work done in the most efficient and easy way. As computers are getting smarter and smarter, the day it becomes more sophisticated than human beings is unavoidable. And I don’t think that should be avoided at all.
Many argue that this process of development is only going downhill. Additionally, job losses, loss of human control and over-reliance are what people are worried about. Having such an intelligent tool in our daily use feels like we humans got replaced by a digital screen. For instance, self-service machines have already replaced many cashiers. Not only that, but getting dependent on electronic screens is one of our weaknesses and a main reason to lose our decision making and problem solving ability. However, these fears are exaggerated.
Ultimately, technology is dangerous only if it is misused. Instead of making huge assumptions, we should try to control it and learn how to move forward.
