Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 6+: As populations grow, places of natural beauty in cities are being used for constructing new houses. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

An increasing number of individuals is leading to the use of green areas for the construction of new residential developments. I believe that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

The first and foremost disadvantage is the loss of green zones that people rely on for relaxation and building a strong connection with nature. Parks, riversides, and mountains offer city residents the opportunity to enjoy natural beauty and reduce stress. When these spaces are destroyed due to the demand for land for new buildings, people lose important areas that contribute to their mental health and physical activity.

Another major problem facing modern megacities is the serious decline in urban air quality. Natural areas such as parks and forests play a significant role in improving air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen. When these stunning places are replaced by modern apartments, there are fewer trees available to filter harmful gases and provide clean air. As a result, we are confronted with challenges such as global warming, an increase in asthma cases, and other significant health issues among the population.

In conclusion, while building houses in places of natural beauty in cities may help reduce homelessness, it also causes many disadvantages that ultimately detract from the overall quality of life.
