These days, it is obvious that the reliance on algorithms and AI decision-making systems sharply increases while some people concern its potential drawbacks. Therefore, people just have started to discuss regulation of AI and algorithmic decisions. In my opinion, these kind of decision-making systems should be regulated by goverment and public, even if it decreses strength.
Of course, an argument that AI and algorithms have brought a lot of advantages to people, so blocking is going to cause loss of effciency is also quite persuasive. In fact, the number of users who use algorithms and AI systems have skyrocketed since 2023. Nowadays, most of people utilise AI for various purpose, such as writing an essay, drawing a sketch or calculating the number of venue in company. Meanwhile, people are appluding to algorithm as well. In terms of convinence, people witnessed huge benifits from it. Thanks to algorithm, people do not need to search things what they want. Algorithm always bring people what they want, even they do not reliase what they want yet.
Nevertheless, It is inevitable that regulating to AI decision-making and algorithms. To begin with, there is lack of responsibility on using AI. Whenever using AI, somebody have to carry the responsibility for the conclusion. Otherwise, it is possible to overdose of AI, such as making inappropriate contents, fake video and news. Secondly, the risk of extreme dependence to algorithm still remains. According to recent study, algorithm is likely to loss creatibity from people, forcing to stuck on same idea.
To sum up, AI and algorithm should be regulated due to their potential siginificant drawbacks, even they have some great values.
