gradually disappearing, and various factors contribute to this phenomenon.
The phenomenon of traditional music is rapidly declining among the younger demographic. In my humble opinion, there were several certain reasons why I would totally agree with the statement that continental music is being demolished by youth people, all of which are to be explained in the essay in detail. Firstly, this essay will discuss the fact that new genres affect culture and secondly, discuss platforms deciding people’s songs choice.
First and foremost reason why I believe the burgeoning popularity of modern music genres like hip hop and pop has captured the interest of young individuals. This shift towards contemporary genres has led to a decline in the consumption of traditional music. Young people are inclined to listen to the most popular songs that are prevalent in their social circles, neglecting the cultural richness embedded in traditional music. According to the research conducted by the department of Art Music at National University of Mongolia in 2019 led by prestigious student Saikhnaa Jargalsaikhan, it has scientifically proven that revealed that the younger generation is significantly more influenced by modern music, impacting their cultural heritage by 32% when compared to those who disregard traditional music entirely.
Second of all, the advent of the technological era has facilitated access to a global array of music. Social media platforms curate music on popularity, influencing the preferences of listeners and amplifying the dominance of modern music over traditional forms. The pervasive influence of globalization has further exacerbated the situation, shaping the musical choices of individuals worldwide. The country of Mongolia, known for its eternal sunshine and phenomenal landscapes is by far the best example to the situation having a major number of people who prefer to listen to the top songs in the world, thus having a substantial proportion of people who do not know traditional songs in the society.
To put everything to consideration, the transformative power of modern music and the pervasive influence of technology and globalization have contributed to the dwindling popularity of traditional music among the youth.
