It is argued that the internet causes numerous issues despite its benefits. While this statement may hold some truth, I partly disagree for several reasons.
On one hand, excessive internet use has led to various mental and health problems. People have grown reliant on the internet for completing tasks, resulting in a decline in outdoor activities like football and basketball, particularly among the younger generation who are increasingly addicted to online games. This trend has contributed to a rise in health issues among youth, primarily attributed to a lack of physical activity during the day. This underscores the seriousness of the issue, as excessive internet use can lead to health problems such as obesity and mental fatigue.
However, viewing the internet solely as a negative influence may be shortsighted. The remarkable technological advancement of the 21st century has transformed human life. The internet offers numerous benefits, especially in education and finance. For instance, statistics show that teenagers can earn around $20,000 by creating content on platforms like YouTube and Instagram. Discouraging internet use could hinder people from accessing free education and earning money to support their studies.
In conclusion, while unhealthy habits may arise from excessive internet use, dismissing the internet as solely detrimental overlooks its significant benefits for individuals.
