Band 7+: Computers are becoming an essential part of education. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is believed that computers play a significant role in education nowadays. The benefits of it lie in the convenient access to learning for people all over the world, as well as limiting the amount of paper usage. However, automation in education leads to obvious health problems and fewer social interactions between learners.

To begin with, two advantages of computer usage in education are accessibility and reduced paper use. Unlike past schooling, computers allow people to learn from anywhere, which is especially beneficial for those in remote areas or busy schedules. In addition to this, not only has paper consumption decreased due to digital alternatives, but it has also contributed to environmental preservation. For instance, in past times before the information age, there were multiple notebooks used for each subject, which could lead to environmental problems such as deforestation, however, these days more individuals switch to digital note-making. Therefore, the accessibility provided by computers, and the reduced amount of paper needed for assignments, reinforce the broader benefits of digital tools.

On the other hand, there are several negative aspects of automation in education, such as health issues and limited social interaction due to virtual schooling. People who spend a lot of time learning on their computers tend to develop vision or back problems, which might lead to serious health problems. Moreover, the more hours spent learning on a computer, the less face-to-face contact people usually have. For example, if students can participate in a lesson online, and send their homework directly to a teacher, they will probably prefer this way of studying rather than attending real-life classes and building stronger relationships. Hence, while the convenience of computers offers benefits, it also presents significant drawbacks, particularly in terms of social interactions and long-term health issues.

In conclusion, computers play a crucial role in learning nowadays, offering such advantages as greater accessibility and reduced paper usage, along with some drawbacks, including potential health issues and diminished social interacti
